The Star Burst chapter features designs that radiate with diamonds and ethereal unenhanced crystal opals. The opals are translucent and feature interplays of colour that subtly evoke galaxies, capturing this brilliant luminosity. A showstopping necklace showcases six unenhanced oval cabochon crystal opals of over 64 total carats that each “burst” with round brilliant diamonds of over 69 total carats.
A modern expression of Jean Schlumberger’s Floral Arrows brooch, the Star Burst designs feature diamonds that extend in asymmetrical patterns from centre unenhanced crystal opals. These ethereal gems showcase a striking interplay of colour with blues and greens that are reminiscent of the aurora borealis, the Northern lights.
A testament to the House’s extraordinary savoir faire, Tiffany & Co. artisans handcrafted this exceptional ring from individual platinum designs set with round brilliant diamonds. The translucency of the centre unenhanced crystal opal of over 5 carats reveals the focal point of the platinum design underneath, creating an effect that evokes celestial radiance.

It is said that galaxies with high starburst activity are among the most luminous in the universe. To capture this brilliant luminosity, we selected exceptional crystal opals and surrounded them with striking diamonds that radiate outward.”
